Brookline Thrives updates, week of June 10 - 14

Brookline Thrives

From Sharon Brockmann, Brookline Thrives Manager:

Hello Everyone,

Some weeks, when I sit down to write this letter, it feels like we’re just getting started with Thrives 23-24; other weeks it feels like the end is approaching alarmingly fast. This week though, the final week of Thrives 23-24 is actually here! Congratulations to you all. I’ll sign off for the summer with next week’s email; but I thought I’d give you all a heads up about what you’ve already accomplished this year. In any typical week Brookline Thrives…

  • Has 60 Fabulous Volunteers
  • Including 24 Bag Packers
  • And 8 Shift Leaders
  • Over 4 Packing Sessions
  • Packing Almost 500 bags
  • To Fill 68 School Bins
  • So 2 Truck Drivers
  • And 2 Truck Passengers
  • Can Deliver to 8 Schools
  • And 4 BEEPs
  • And 1 Community Pick Up Point
  • Where 14 Bag Distributors
  • Delivery Directly to 140 Classrooms

...So that countless teachers and staff around Brookline can delivery weekend food bags to children and families in need.

And NEVER FORGET the 8 Backup Volunteers Who Are Available Every Week to Cover the Spots Above.

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE and I look forward to seeing you all this week for our final sessions before the summer! Sharon
