Brookline Holiday Toy Drive 2023 Recap

Thank you to all in the Hayes community that donated to the Holiday Toy Drive this winter. This effort was a town-wide collaboration between the Brookline Community Development Corporation (BCDC) and the Brookline Housing Authority (BHA), and was made possible by a substantial grant from the Brookline Community Foundation and the generosity of countless Brookline community members.

The goal of the Toy Drive was to collect 400 toys for all BHA resident families with children ages 0-14. The community was able to surpass that goal easily to collect a record 600 toys! And our school community filled that big box two times. This made it possible to cover all the BHA families along with many other families in need.

A Partner Update and Thank You with more info about the effort.

One of the photos below is Senior Organizer at BCDC Bonnie Bastien's Subaru Outback with the back seats folded down absolutely FILLED to the brim with toys! She filled her car like this 5 times!!

The toys were distributed the week before Christmas at BHA. Santa made an appearance, there were treats, and a whole lot of fun!

Thank you all for your generosity this holiday season.
