DPW "Go Green After Halloween" Event
Posted: 10/31/2023 11:46 am
Join the Department of Public Works at our “Go Green After Halloween” event on Thursday, November 9th from 1:30 to 6:30 PM in the West Centre Street Parking Lot (in the Brookline Farmers Market). Bring any unwanted pumpkins and used costumes and dispose of them the right way! We’ll be offering the following fun autumnal activities:
Pumpkin Toss: This year, do not trash your pumpkins… smash them! Prevent your pumpkin from an after-life in a landfill by tossing it into a Black Earth Compost carnival truck. Pumpkin “guts” will be composted by Black Earth Compost. Remember to remove any candles or decorations from your pumpkin beforehand!
Costume Drive: Revive your clean and gently used costumes by donating them! Costumes will be distributed next year so that others can enjoy the TREAT of dressing up.
Please contact zerowaste@brooklinema.gov with any questions. We hope to see you there!
