IEP Project @ Tufts University

The Crehan Lab at Tufts University is running a study examining the potential discrepancies in Individualized Education Programs (IEP) for students with Autism across school districts with populations of families with diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. With this information, they hope to identify service patterns that are inconsistently offered across various factors, such as the primary language spoken at home. They hope to address barriers impacting many Latinx children that have disabilities by examining disparities in the quality of IEPs designed for minority children with ASD and identifying patterns of services that are not consistently offered. They are recruiting all caregivers for their study but are especially hoping to increase recruitment of Spanish and Portuguese-speaking caregivers, whose child is between the ages of 3-22 and who have an Autism diagnosis.
