From Sharon Brockmann, Brookline Thrives Manager:
Here we go everyone, it's the first week of Brookline Thrives 2023/24.
The bins are stacked ready to be filled, inventory is stocked ready to be bagged... All we need now is YOU the volunteers to help get our bags into the hands of the children of Brookline. Please take a look at the volunteer sign up and see what vacancies we have for this week.

PLEASE READ ON FOR SOME IMPORTANT INFORMATION
CORI Background Check
The Public Schools of Brookline require anyone not employed by the district (e.g., volunteers) operating within schools to complete a CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) background check. CORI checks are free and valid for 3 years. Please complete and email the CORI form along with a copy of your government issued ID (driver's license, passport) to William Sablove, will_sablove@psbma.org if you don't already have an active CORI form on file with the district.
Click here to download a copy and fill out your details. In your email, please specify that you are volunteering with Brookline Thrives. Let me know if you have any questions or problems.
BROOKLINE THRIVES raised $63 in the GIVE BACK WHERE IT COUNTS PROGRAM during the month of August 2023. Thank you to all who participated. Every little bit helps!
PAPER HANDLE BAGS DRIVE
If you have bags from local markets that you can donate we'll put them to good use! Please drop off bag donations whenever you come to volunteer, or get in touch via email and we can arrange to meet up and collect them from you. Thank you!
PERMANENT SCHOOL MEALS FOR ALL
In case you missed the incredibly good news, the state of Massachusetts has announced school meals will be permanently FREE for all MA students regardless of socioeconomic status. The generosity and tireless advocacy of many MA residents over the past three years is the reason students will be guaranteed FREE school meals.
Brookline Thrives is a program of the Brookline Food Pantry.
