Project Bread's 55th Walk for Hunger

Thank you to all who attended Sunday's PROJECT BREAD 5K WALK FOR HUNGER at Boston Common. We are thrilled to announce the Friends of Brookline Public Health, along with Brookline Thrives and Brookline Food Pantry, volunteers raised $6,154. Thank you to all who helped, especially to Thrives volunteer Laura Waters who raised over $2,100 of this total. Project Bread will pass 60% of all that our team raised to Brookline Thrives! We are very humbled and honored to receive this donation. (The Walk For Hunger raised over $900,000 in donations overall so congratulations to all!)

Cinco de Mayo High St. Veterans Community Event

Brookline Thrives attended a Brookline Housing Authority community gathering on Friday May 5th. This was a great event with many organizations in attendance including Brookline REC, Viking Sports, Brookline Community Foundation, Brookline Thrives, and more. There was plenty of food and music as well as information on summer camps, jobs, free Farmer’s Market Food coupons and fun activities for the children including a bouncy castle!

Paper Handle Bags Drive

Every week, we use approximately 250 handled grocery bags to help with final delivery of nearly 500 Thrives bags to students across Brookline. If you have bags from local markets that you can donate we'll put them to good use! Please drop off bags donations whenever you come to volunteer, or get in touch via email and we can arrange to meet up and collect them. Thank you!
