Brookline Thrives Updates & Needs Nov 2022

Brookline Thrives logo

Nearly 500 Thrives bags are being distributed every week! That means almost 500 children are receiving the additional food they need over the weekend to better support their nutrition and help fuel them for the school week. Brookline Thrives can make this happen because of all of you, through your generosity of time and financial support. Thank you!

Donate A Thanksgiving Pie

The Brookline Food Pantry needs pies for the Thanksgiving distribution. We expect to serve 700 meals this year. Make or buy a pie and drop off at any of these locations and times:

  • 226 High St - Sunday, November 20 between 9 - 11am
  • 15 Marion St - Monday, November 21 between 9am - 12pm
  • 55R Egmont St - Tuesday, November 22 between 10am - 1pm

We Need Your Grocery Bags

Thrives needs handled paper grocery bags, sized like the ones from Star Market and Wegmans. We use these bags to discreetly deliver students' Thrives bags to their classrooms. Drop off bags at these locations and times, or email thrives@brooklinefoodpantry.org.

  • Brookline Food Pantry, 210 Harvard Street (Marion Street entrance) on Wednesdays 10:30am-12:30pm or Fridays 9:30am-12pm
  • 218 New Terrace Road (Thrives bag packing place) Wednesdays and Thursdays, 9-10:30am

Get Your Thanksgiving Flowers

The Brookline Food Pantry is Stop & Shop's choice beneficiary of the November Bloomin' 4 Good campaign. At the Brookline Stop & Shop only (on Harvard Street), purchase any Bloomin' 4 Good floral bouquet and $1 will be donated to Brookline Thrives. Look for the Bloomin' 4 Good sticker. The more flowers you buy, the more $$ goes to Thrives.
