Lincoln is Hosting the Nov 16, 2022 Brookline Readers & Leaders

We are excited to welcome Heath School Principal Dr. Asa Sevelius as our guest reader this week!

In honor of Transgender Awareness Week (Nov 13-19), he will read When Aidan Became A Brother, by Kyle Luko.

Winner of the 2020 Stonewall Book Award, this picture book celebrates the changes in a transgender boy's life, following him along his journey to becoming a big brother. Setting a new standard of excellence in transgender representation, it centers the feelings of Aidan, a biracial (Black and South Asian) transgender boy and emphasizes love and the importance of staying open to learning.

The Brookline Readers & Leaders is a family and student-led initiative started by the Run Ridley Readers & Leaders. We meet weekly to read books, share stories, and discuss ways to foster inclusive community and to make positive change in our world. Please join us! bit.ly/BRLZOOM
