BREC Equity Initiative - 500 FREE spots for residents who qualify

BREC has an exciting program initiative that they are promoting now, 500 free seats to children who would like to participate in Recreation programs, but have financial limitations can now join their programs for FREE. This initiative is part of the work related to WA 26, this past spring. WA 26 was referred by Town Meeting to the Park and Recreation Commission. The Park and Recreation Commission formed a 14 member Committee that commenced its work this past June. Since Fall of 2022, they have been offering FREE programs for people in financial need. They currently have approximately 400 that are still available.

Brookline Travel Basketball 2022

Brookline Travel Basketball is a competitive league for boys (grades 4 - 8) and girls (grades 4 - 8) living in / attending school in Brookline. Teams compete against other towns in the Metrowest Basketball League. Tryouts for the 2022-2023 season will take place on Sunday September 25, 2022 and Sunday October 2, 2022.

Brookline Teen Center’s Middle School Program

The Brookline Teen Center’s Middle School Program is an out of school enrichment program designed to engage youth grades 6 - 8 (during the school year. This program aims to provide a safe, fun, and recreational space for youth during after-school hours Mondays through Fridays. Youth in this program will be supported to achieve academic success through homework support, explore and discover who they are through enriching activities that build self confidence, inspire curiosity, build community and foster joy. Program run September 12, 2022 - June 21, 2023.
