Townwide Survey on Youth Substance Use

Brookline Coalition Advocating Substance Awareness (B-CASA) is asking parents/caregivers of current Brookline students and recent graduates who are 25 years old or younger to do a short (~20 minute) anonymous survey to gather valuable insights on youth substance use. By understanding your experiences, concerns, and observations, we can develop effective strategies to address the challenges our young people face and create a safer environment for their growth and development. New Resources for Youth Mental Health

Mental Health Month provided a good reminder that our sense of mental wellness is just as important as physical health, and we should never be afraid to reach out for help. B-PEN has put together an updated list of Mental Health Resources, including numbers for suicide and crisis lifelines, local and national resources, and places to explore for help finding support and/or a therapist. And B-PEN.org shares more information, including a couple of very helpful Tip Sheets on Typical vs. Concerning Behavior and Supporting a Teen in Crisis.
Summer Time At The BTC

The Brookline Teen Center (BTC) Summer Program starts July 10th and running through August 25h. Monday-Friday, for rising 8th-12th graders, with programming including community service opportunities, music technology workshops and studio time, open center and fun Friday activities. Discount opportunities are also available if needed.
Coolidge Corner Block Party and Film Screening

On Father's Day, June 18th, 2023 from 12:00pm to 5:00pm, Coolidge Corner will be rocking with a Juneteenth Block Party at the Florida Ruffin Ridley School and a film screening at the Coolidge Corner Theatre.
BEF's Honor A Teacher Campaign

The end of the school year is approaching! Now is a great time to honor your students’ favorite teachers! When you make a donation of any size, the Brookline Education Foundation will send a note of recognition to any Brookline educators you designate, including music and arts teachers, specialists, administrators, coaches, guidance counselors, nurses, and aides. We know from experience that they will be thrilled by your thoughtfulness, especially because every dollar donated goes directly toward funding their professional development experiences in the future!
